A new driver, usually, is typically a teenager or a teen. This term is used to describe someone who is just starting to learn how to drive, and is usually between the ages of 15 and 18. They are often inexperienced and require extra caution when driving. New drivers are required to take a driver's education course in order to obtain a license. In some states, they may also be required to have a certain amount of supervised driving hours before they can get their license.
