Indira Gandhi, also known as Indira Nehru Gandhi, was an Indian politician who served as the third Prime Minister of India from 1966 to 1977. She was the daughter of Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister, and was a central figure of the Indian National Congress party. During her tenure, she oversaw the nationalization of banks, the introduction of agricultural reforms, and the establishment of the Green Revolution. She was assassinated in 1984.
