Nebraska's capital is LINCOLN, a city of approximately 280, 000 people located in the southeastern part of the state. It is the second most populous city in Nebraska and is the county seat of Lancaster County. The city was named after Abraham LINCOLN, the 16th President of the United States. It is home to the University of Nebraska–LINCOLN, as well as several other colleges and universities. LINCOLN is also known for its vibrant music and art scene, as well as its many parks and outdoor activities.
