The state of Nebraska is home to four Native American tribes: the Otos, Pawnee, Otoes, and Omahas. The Otos are a Siouan-speaking tribe that historically lived in the area of present-day Nebraska and Kansas. The Pawnee are a Caddoan-speaking tribe that traditionally lived in the Great Plains region of the United States. The Otoes are a Siouan-speaking tribe that were closely related to the Otos and also lived in the area of present-day Nebraska and Kansas. The Omahas are a Siouan-speaking tribe that traditionally lived in the area of present-day Nebraska and Iowa. All four of these tribes are considered to be Nebraska Natives.
