Native New Zealanders, also known as MAORI, are the indigenous Polynesian people of New Zealand. The term MAORI is derived from the word māori, which means 'NORMAL' or 'ORDINARY'. The Bernoulli family was a prominent Swiss family of mathematicians and physicists who were active in the 18th century. Maoris are the descendants of the original inhabitants of New Zealand and are the largest minority group in the country. They have their own language, culture, and traditions, and are recognized as the tangata whenua, or people of the land.
