Ukraine has a population of over 44 million people and is the second-largest country in Europe. It is a unitary semi-presidential republic with Kyiv as its capital and largest city. Ukraine is a member of the United Nations, the Council of Europe, the OSCE, and the GUAM Organization for Democracy and Economic Development.
