A Muslim Mystic is a person who follows the Islamic faith and practices mysticism. The two most common terms used to describe a Muslim Mystic are SUFI and FAKIR. SUFI is an Arabic term meaning 'wool-wearer' and refers to a member of a mystical Islamic order. FAKIR is an Arabic term meaning 'POOR' and refers to a Muslim ascetic who has renounced material possessions. Both Sufis and Fakirs practice meditation, prayer, and other spiritual practices in order to achieve a higher level of understanding and connection with God.
