The Muslim Journey is a spiritual journey that is taken by Muslims to the holy city of Mecca. The two main components of this journey are the Hadj and the Hajj. The Hadj is a pilgrimage to Mecca that is undertaken at least once in a lifetime by all able-bodied Muslims who can afford it. The Hajj is a more intense version of the Hadj, which is performed during the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah. Both the Hadj and the Hajj involve a series of rituals and prayers that are meant to bring the pilgrim closer to Allah.
