Edna Krabappel, better known as Mrs. Krabappel, is a fictional character from the long-running animated television series The Simpsons. She is voiced by actress Marcia Wallace and first appeared in the episode 'Bart the Lover' which aired on February 25, 1993. Mrs. Krabappel is a fourth grade teacher at Springfield Elementary School, where she teaches Bart Simpson's class. She is often portrayed as a jaded, grumpy, and cynical woman who frequently drinks alcohol and smokes cigarettes.
