Movie Mutt is a term used to describe a type of canine character that appears in many films. The most famous examples are ASTA, BENJI, and SCAMP. ASTA was the wire-haired fox terrier in the 1934 film The Thin Man. BENJI is a mixed-breed dog who has starred in several films since 1974. SCAMP is the son of Lady and Tramp from the 1955 Disney classic Lady and the Tramp. All three of these characters are considered Movie Mutts.
