Moshe of Israel was a prominent figure in the history of the Jewish people. He was a DAYAN, a Jewish religious judge, and an Arens, a leader of the Israeli Defense Forces. Moshe of Israel was born in Russia in 1888 and immigrated to Palestine in 1912. He was a leader in the Zionist movement and was instrumental in the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948. He served as the first Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces from 1948 to 1952 and was later appointed Minister of Defense in 1967. He was also a member of the Knesset, the Israeli Parliament, from 1949 to 1959. Moshe of Israel passed away in 1981 at the age of 93.
