Monica Seles is a former professional tennis player from Yugoslavia (now Serbia). She was one of the most successful female players in the 1990s, winning nine Grand Slam singles titles. She is best known for her powerful two-handed backhand and her aggressive playing style. Seles was the first female athlete to earn over $5 million in prize money. She was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2009.
