Monastery dwellers, or MONKS, are members of a religious order who live in a monastery and dedicate their lives to prayer and service. MONKS typically take vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, and they often wear distinctive clothing such as robes and sandals. MONKS may also be involved in activities such as farming, teaching, and providing spiritual guidance to the community. Monasteries are often located in remote areas, and MONKS may spend much of their time in contemplation and meditation.
