Modern Persian is a language spoken in Iran and other countries in the Middle East. It is also known as Farsi, which is the official language of Iran, and IRANIAN or IRANI, which is the language of the people of Iran. It is a member of the Indo-IRANIAN branch of the Indo-European language family. Modern Persian has been influenced by Arabic, Turkish, and other languages, and is written in the Persian alphabet. It is spoken by over 110 million people worldwide.
