Ursa Minor, also known as the Little Bear, is a constellation located in the northern sky. It is one of the 88 modern constellations and was first catalogued by the Greek astronomer Ptolemy in the 2nd century. URSA Minor is best known for containing the North Star, Polaris, which is the brightest star in the constellation. URSA Minor is also home to several other stars, including Kochab and Pherkad, which form the 'Little Dipper' asterism.
