The predecessor of Slobodan Milosevic was Josip Broz Tito, a Yugoslav revolutionary and statesman who led the Yugoslav Partisans in World War II and served as the first President of Yugoslavia from 1953 to 1980. He was also the leader of the Non-Aligned Movement and held the rank of Marshal of Yugoslavia. Tito was born in 1892 in what is now Croatia and died in 1980.
