A military council, also known as a JUNTA, is a group of military officers who come together to form a government or to exercise political power. It is usually formed after a coup d'etat or other political upheaval and is often used to replace an existing government. The members of the JUNTA are usually senior military officers who have a shared ideology and a common goal. They often have a strong influence over the government and can be very powerful.
