Michelle Phillips is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She is best known as a member of the 1960s folk rock group The Mamas & the Papas. She was born in Long Beach, California in 1944 and began her career as a model before joining the group in 1965. She left the group in 1968 but rejoined in 1971 and remained until their disbandment in 1974. She has since released several solo albums and acted in films and television shows.
