Michelangelo was an Italian Renaissance artist, best known for his works of painting, sculpture, and architecture. His most famous works include the Pietà, a marble sculpture depicting the Virgin Mary holding the body of Jesus Christ, and the frescoes on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in Rome. He also created several sculptures of the Pietà, including the Rondanini Pietà, which is considered to be his last work. Additionally, he created many other sculptures, such as the David and the Moses.
