The Mexican River is a river located in Mexico and is made up of three main rivers: the Balsas, the BRAVO, and the Yaqui. The Balsas River is the longest of the three, stretching over 1, 000 miles from its source in the Sierra Madre Occidental mountain range to its mouth in the Pacific Ocean. The BRAVO River is the second longest, running through the states of Chihuahua, Durango, and Coahuila before emptying into the Gulf of Mexico. The Yaqui River is the shortest of the three, running through the state of Sonora before emptying into the Gulf of California. All three rivers are important sources of water for the people of Mexico.
