A Message-Spelling Board, also known as an Ouija board, is a flat board marked with the letters of the alphabet, the numbers 0–9, the words 'YES', 'NO', 'HELLO' and 'GOODBYE', along with various symbols and graphics. It is used as a divination tool to communicate with spirits. Participants place their fingers on a planchette, a small heart-shaped piece of wood, which then moves around the board to spell out messages.
