Medieval weapons were an important part of warfare during the Middle Ages. Crossbows, which had nine letters, were a type of bow that was used to shoot arrows. Maces, with five letters, were blunt weapons with a heavy head on one end of a handle. Poleaxes, with eight letters, were similar to maces but had an axe blade attached to the head. PIKES, with five letters, were long SPEARS with a sharp point at the end. SPEARS, with six letters, were also long weapons with a sharp point at the end, but they were lighter than PIKES.
