Medieval contests were a popular form of entertainment in the Middle Ages. These contests included tilts and JOUSTS, which were both competitions between two knights on horseback. Tilts involved two knights charging at each other with lances, while JOUSTS involved two knights charging at each other with blunted weapons. Both contests were dangerous and often resulted in serious injury or death. The winner of the contest was usually determined by who could remain in the saddle the longest.
