Medea to Perses is a reference to the Greek myth of Medea, who was the niece of King Aeetes of Colchis. In the myth, Medea helps her cousin Jason in his quest to obtain the Golden Fleece from her uncle, King Aeetes. As a reward for her help, Medea is promised marriage to Jason and they flee together to Corinth. However, when Jason abandons Medea for another woman, Medea takes revenge by killing their two children.
