Maude Producer Norman Lear is an American television writer, producer, and political activist. He is best known for creating the sitcoms All in the Family, Sanford and Son, The Jeffersons, Good Times, and Maude. He was also the executive producer of the spin-off series Archie Bunker's Place, Gloria, and Checking In. He has won numerous awards, including four Emmy Awards and a Peabody Award. He is also a recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors and the National Medal of Arts.
