Maria Callas was a Greek-American SOPRANO and DIVA who is widely regarded as one of the greatest opera singers of all time. She was born in New York City in 1923 and began her career in Greece in 1945. She quickly rose to fame and became renowned for her powerful voice, dramatic interpretations, and passionate performances. Her repertoire included works by Verdi, Puccini, and Bellini, among others. She was also known for her rivalry with fellow SOPRANO Renata Tebaldi. Maria Callas died in 1977 at the age of 53.
