Ursae Majoris is a star system located in the constellation of Ursa Major. It is composed of two stars, Alpha Ursae Majoris and Beta Ursae Majoris, which are also known as Dubhe and Merak respectively. The system is approximately 81 light years away from Earth and is visible to the naked eye. Alpha Ursae Majoris is the brighter of the two stars and is the second brightest star in the constellation.
