Ella Fitzgerald was an American jazz singer and songwriter who is widely considered one of the greatest jazz vocalists of all time. She was also known as the 'First Lady of Song' and 'Queen of Jazz'. She rose to fame in the 1930s with her hit song 'A-Tisket, A-Tasket' and went on to have a successful career that spanned five decades. Her repertoire included popular songs, blues, jazz standards, and even opera. She won 13 Grammy Awards and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1992.
