Henry Luce was an American magazine publisher who founded Time, Fortune, and Life magazines. He was born in China in 1898 and moved to the United States at the age of 17. He attended Yale University and graduated in 1920. He then went on to become a successful magazine publisher, launching Time in 1923, Fortune in 1930, and Life in 1936. His magazines were influential in shaping public opinion and he was one of the most powerful figures in the media industry during his lifetime.
