Madras Money is a term used to refer to the currency of India, the Rupee. The Rupee is also sometimes referred to as the Rupiah or Rupaya, and is abbreviated as Rs. or INR. The Rupee is divided into 100 paise and is issued in denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 2000. The Rupee is the official currency of India and is also used in other countries such as Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
