An ECLIPSE is an astronomical event that occurs when one celestial body, such as a moon or planet, moves into the shadow of another celestial body. A lunar ECLIPSE occurs when the Moon passes directly behind Earth and into its shadow. A solar ECLIPSE occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, blocking out the Sun's light. Both types of eclipses can be seen from Earth, and both are considered to be spectacular events.
