London's Westminster ABBEY is a large, Gothic ABBEY church located in the City of Westminster, London. It is one of the most notable religious buildings in the United Kingdom and has been the traditional place of coronation and burial site for English and, later, British monarchs. The ABBEY was founded in the 10th century by Edward the Confessor and was rebuilt in the 12th and 16th centuries. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and remains an active church today.
