A Liturgical Assistant, also known as an ACOLYTE, is a person who assists in religious ceremonies and services. They are responsible for carrying out tasks such as lighting candles, carrying the cross, and assisting with communion. They may also be asked to read scripture or lead prayers. Acolytes are often seen as role models for younger members of the congregation and are expected to demonstrate a high level of respect and reverence during services.
