Hal Linden is an American actor, singer, director, and musician best known for his role as the title character in the television sitcom Barney Miller. He also starred in the show's spin-off, Blacke's Magic. Linden has won two Golden Globe Awards and an Emmy Award for his work on the show. He has also appeared in numerous films and television shows, including The Love Boat, Murder, She Wrote, and Law & Order. He is also a successful stage actor, having appeared in several Broadway productions.
