Lilongwe Country is the capital of Malawi, a landlocked country in southeastern Africa. Malawi is bordered by Zambia to the northwest, Tanzania to the northeast, and Mozambique to the east, south and west. It is known for its diverse wildlife, large lake system and spectacular mountain scenery. The official language is English, although Chichewa is widely spoken. Malawi is one of the world's least developed countries and has a population of over 18 million people.
