The Eloi are a leisure class in H.G. Wells' novel 'The Time Machine'. They are a peaceful, childlike people who live in a utopian society and are the descendants of the upper classes of Victorian England. They are described as being physically weak and having no knowledge of warfare or technology. The Eloi are dependent on the Morlocks, a race of subterranean creatures, for their food and other necessities.
