The term LEAF PORE is a combination of two words, STOMA (5 letters) and LEAF. STOMA is a specialized pore found in the epidermis of leaves that allows for the exchange of gases and water vapor between the LEAF and the atmosphere. The STOMA is surrounded by two guard cells which control the opening and closing of the pore.
