The Latin Epic Aeneid is a Latin epic poem written by the Roman poet Virgil between 29 and 19 BC. It tells the legendary story of Aeneas, a Trojan who travelled to Italy, where he became the ancestor of the Romans. The Aeneid follows the journey of Aeneas after the fall of Troy and his eventual arrival in Italy.
