A lathe operator, also known as a TURNER, is someone who operates a lathe machine to shape and form metal or wood into desired shapes. They use the lathe to cut, sand, drill, and shape materials into the desired shape. The operator must be knowledgeable in the operation of the lathe and have the ability to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams. They must also be able to make adjustments to the machine as needed.
