A large ratite is a flightless bird that belongs to the order Struthioniformes. The two most common examples of large ratites are the EMU (3 letters) and the RHEA (4 letters). The EMU is native to Australia and is the second-largest living bird by height, while the RHEA is native to South America and is the largest bird in the Americas. Both birds have long legs and can reach speeds of up to 30 mph when running.
