The Dead Sea Scrolls are a collection of ancient manuscripts discovered in the 1940s and 1950s in the Qumran Caves near the Dead Sea. The scrolls contain texts from the Hebrew Bible as well as other Jewish texts from the Second Temple period. One of the languages found in the scrolls is Aramaic, an ancient Semitic language that was widely spoken in the Middle East during the time of the scrolls.
