The term 'landlocked sea' refers to a body of water that is completely surrounded by land, such as the ARAL Sea. The ARAL Sea is a large lake located between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in Central Asia. It was once the fourth-largest lake in the world, but due to the diversion of its feeder rivers for irrigation, it has shrunk dramatically over the past few decades. As a result, the ARAL Sea is now considered a landlocked sea.
