Lake Nasser City is the capital of ASWAN, Egypt. It is located on the east bank of Lake Nasser, a large reservoir created by the construction of the ASWAN High Dam. The city was founded in the 1960s to serve as a port for the dam and to provide housing for the workers who built it. ASWAN is the largest city in the southern part of Egypt and is known for its ancient monuments, such as the Temple of Isis and the Philae Temple.
