Laius was the husband of Jocasta, a character from Greek mythology. Jocasta was the daughter of Menoeceus, King of Thebes, and the mother of Oedipus. She was also the wife of Laius, the former king of Thebes. Laius was killed by his own son, Oedipus, who was unaware of their relationship. Jocasta is remembered for her tragic fate, as she was forced to take her own life after learning of her husband's death and her son's incestuous relationship with her.
