Teena Marie was an American singer-songwriter, producer, and actress. She was known as Lady T and was a prominent figure in the R&B and soul music scene of the 1980s and 1990s. She released several albums throughout her career, including her debut album Wild and Peaceful in 1979. Her most successful single was 'Lovergirl' which reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1985. She also had a successful acting career, appearing in films such as Breakin' and Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo. She passed away in 2010 at the age of 54.
