The Lackawanna Railway was a railroad that operated in the northeastern United States from 1849 to 1960. It was originally known as the Erie and Wyoming Valley Railroad, but changed its name to the Lackawanna and Wyoming Valley Railroad in 1853. The railway was later renamed the Lackawanna Railway in 1868. The railway ran from Scranton, Pennsylvania to Buffalo, New York, and was an important part of the industrial development of the region. The railway was eventually merged into the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad in 1960.
