The term 'ANIMA' is a Jungian term, coined by Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung. It refers to the unconscious feminine aspect of a man's psyche, and is often seen as a representation of his innermost desires and feelings. ANIMA is also used to describe the feminine aspects of a woman's psyche.
