Judean Kings were rulers of the ancient kingdom of Judea, which was located in the southern part of the Levant region. Two of the most famous Judean Kings were Herod and David. Herod was a Roman client king who ruled Judea from 37 BCE to 4 BCE. He is known for his ambitious building projects and for his role in the Massacre of the Innocents. David was the second king of the United Kingdom of Israel and Judah, reigning c. 1010–970 BCE. He is renowned for his military victories and for his psalms and songs.
