Josephine Tey was a British author of the mid-20th century. She wrote mystery novels and plays, and is best known for her novel 'The Daughter of Time'. She also wrote the play 'Richard of Bordeaux' which was a great success in the 1930s. Her works often featured strong female characters and explored themes of justice and morality. Tey was born Elizabeth MacKintosh in Inverness, Scotland in 1896 and died in 1952.
