Johnny Appleseed, notably, was an American pioneer nurseryman who introduced apple trees to large parts of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. He is remembered for his kind and generous nature, and for travelling around the country planting apple trees. His real name was John Chapman, and he was born in Leominster, Massachusetts in 1774. He is remembered as a PLANTER, as he planted apple trees wherever he went.
